SnowDay Predictor

Privacy Policy

SnowDay Predictor is a static site with no backend and no user accounts. We don't run a database and we don't store your searches or location on a server. Here's what actually happens.

Your location

  • When you search a city/ZIP or tap "use my location," your browser sends the coordinates to Open-Meteo to fetch the forecast. We never receive or store them.
  • Geolocation is only used after you tap the button, and only to get a forecast.
  • Your last location and chosen settings are saved in your browser's localStorage, and a recent forecast may be cached in sessionStorage, so the site is faster on return visits. This data stays on your device and you can clear it anytime.

Analytics & advertising

If advertising is enabled, ad partners (e.g. Google AdSense) may set cookies and collect usage data to show and measure ads, per their own privacy policies. Any analytics we add will be privacy-respecting and disclosed here. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

The core predictor sets no cookies of its own; it uses local browser storage as described above. Third-party ad/analytics scripts, when present, may set their own cookies.

Children

This is a general-audience informational tool and is not directed at collecting personal information from children.
